About Us

.....Some of this site's visitors have asked who I am and why did I put up this site. My name is Bob Halpin, and my wife, Loretta, and I currently live in Sun City Grand, a Del Webb senior Community, in Surprise Arizona. She is a full time Real Estate agent and I'm a full time Pickleball and computer player.

.....I decided to put up this site for several reasons. First and foremost is that my wife Loretta and I both love Pickleball, and we play as much as time and our bodies permit. I also enjoy Computers and learning some of the skills that putting up a website entails. It provides me with entertainment that is not hard on my knees! I also thought it might be helpful to have a website that can go in any direction that its visitors would like to see it go. It will mostly be about Pickleball in Arizona because that's where we live and play. However, I will be happy to include any information about Pickleball in other places that visitors to this site provide me.

.....Because Loretta works, she and I have only played a couple of Arizona Tournaments, but we did play in the 2004 Florida Senior Olympics at The Villages and had a great time. Some of you players from Florida might remember my wife and I as that weird team who played funny. After watching us, everyone said that people in Arizona played funny. We just told them, that even in Arizona we play funny. Its hard to explain and we only play that way in tournaments, but it works for us. We seldom beat the best teams, but we usually get a lot of balls back and occasionally beat a team we shouldn't. For anyone that's thinking about going to the Florida Senior Olympics, I would highly recommend it as it was a great place to visit and everyone was great. The Villages is an interesting place to visit and they have an unbelievable number of Pickleball courts.

.....I played in the Huntsman Senior Games this year, 2005, in St. George, Utah. The weather was great, the people were great, the Pickleball and the courts were top notch, and it was a totally fun but exhausting week of Pickleball and Sun. I highly recommend it to all Pickleball players. Loretta and I are going in 2006, so hope to see you there.
